Trivan — Crowned with Dread and Power (Lyric Video)
Trivan is a black metal band from Zagreb, Croatia, and this is the first Croatian band ever featured on this site. Founder Vanja Šantak mailed the video in himself: black metal with death and traditional heavy metal in its blood, from the single released 25 September 2026, ahead of debut album Eternal Shore. The underground finding our front door is exactly why it exists.
This one came in through the front door. Vanja Šantak, founder and guitarist of Trivan from Zagreb, mailed the site directly: no press agency, no blast list, just a musician who had read the Dimmu Borgir and Witch Club Satan drops and figured his own scene deserved a seat at that table. He is right. And Croatia is a first for this site, which makes it sweeter.
Crowned with Dread and Power, released 25 September 2026, is black metal that does not hide its other loves. The tremolo and the rasp are there, but underneath sits a death metal weight and the kind of guitar melody that owes more to classic heavy metal than to any Norwegian forest. Recorded and produced by Dave Kaminsky at Studio Wormwood, and it sounds like a band that knows exactly which corners to leave rough.
The track belongs to an eight-song narrative about loss and refusing to submit to your own inner darkness, being built toward a debut album called Eternal Shore. No release date announced yet. On the evidence of this and the earlier track Abyss of Crawling Shadows, that debut goes on the watch list.
Small scenes send their best. First Maidenhead through the Inbox, now Zagreb through the mail. Keep them coming.
