Four albums dropped into the Bandcamp feed this week. Three of them came through Italy’s Avantgarde Music in the same announcement window. Saidan, Inherits The Void, Downfall Of Nur. A label release blast that says “we are doing it our way.” The fourth is HEALTH dropping an EP with a Deftones cover as the lead. Different planet, same week.
Saidan — Fangdriller: Scars Beneath Memories Wrist
Italy · Black Metal, avantgarde · Avantgarde Music Featured track: Kara No Bara
The supporter quotes tell you the relevant story. Pre-orders moving fast enough that fans are anxious about the vinyl run, and at least one of them is paying transatlantic shipping for the privilege.
“I think they’re improving. The new track is so nice. Had to snag a vinyl because they seem to sell fast.” — Cordial Despair
Inherits The Void — The Silent Abscission
Italy · Black Metal, avantgarde · Avantgarde Music Featured track: Wrath Of The Endless Sea
This is the kind of band where established fans pre-order before they listen. That happens when the previous records have built equity. The featured track runs four-forty-one, which suggests the album proper is going long.
“I own and loved this artist’s 2nd and 3rd albums on CD and on BC, so for me it was mandatory to click that buy button without any hesitation.” — sashavonkarl74
Downfall Of Nur — And the Firmament will Burn to Quench the Pain of this Earth
Italy · Black Metal, avantgarde · Avantgarde Music Featured track: And the Firmament will Burn to Quench the Pain of this Earth
Title-track-as-featured-track is a tell. The clip runs past fourteen minutes, which is the kind of run-time that says the band knows exactly who they are talking to. The supporter reaction is unusually strong even by Bandcamp standards.
“The beauty and power of this single cannot be overstated. So profound and drenched in unrequited yearning.” — NorthwoodsBrewer502
HEALTH — ADDENDUM EP
United States · Industrial Metal, noise rock · Self-released Featured track: BE QUIET AND DRIVE (FAR AWAY)
A Deftones cover as the lead single. The song is from Around the Fur, 1997. HEALTH’s recent run has leaned into collaborations and reinterpretations, so the ADDENDUM framing fits — already out, buy-now rather than pre-order, side-quest material from a band that does not stop moving.
“A more perfect union of flesh and circuitry.” — Grimmrobe
