Spotify put this in my release radar as a suggestion, probably because I already follow half the Greek scene. Algorithm, for once: thank you. One riff into Man Down (In The Front Row) I knew exactly what I was dealing with, and by track three I had ordered nothing yet but understood why the vinyl run is limited.
Eternal is a thrash metal band from Athens, Greece, formed around vocalist and guitarist Nick Pogas, with Spyros Paixos on guitar, Nick Tsaoushs on bass and Alexandros Archaniotis on drums. Their debut album Conspiracy of Warheads, released 2 October 2026 on Greek label Floga Records, is ten tracks of eighties-rooted thrash with a title track aimed squarely at the machinery of war. They did it the old way: a demo called No Escape in early 2024, the single Bloodspill in 2025, both songs earning their place again on the album. No shortcuts, no core suffix, no modern production gloss. The press materials name Anthrax, Megadeth and Voivod as reference points, and for once the list matches what comes out of the speakers.
Here is why nobody outside Greece knows them yet. When metal people think Greece, they think black and death metal. Rotting Christ’s lineage, Yoth Iria, the occult current that runs from Athens to Thessaloniki. Even the proggier corners like Hypostasis fit that story. Greek thrash has no such mythology. A young band playing Bay Area worship on a small local label starts three steps behind the stereotype, however tight the riffs.
And they are tight. The title track moves like a band twice their age, Man Down has a chorus built for a festival pit, and the whole record keeps songs around the four-minute mark where thrash belongs. One reviewer landed on 77 percent. Fair for a debut. Low for the energy.
Put on Man Down above. If your neck is moving before the first chorus, the album is on Floga, and the coloured vinyl will not sit there long.
