Slaughter to Prevail - Russian Grizzly in America (Official Music Video)

Alex Terrible and Slaughter to Prevail doing what they do best. Crushing breakdowns, a bear, and zero subtlety. Exactly what was ordered.

Slaughter to Prevail released the video for “Russian Grizzly in America” and it’s exactly as unhinged as that title suggests. Alex Terrible in the devil mask. Urban chaos. A bear. An actual bear. Whether it’s a costume or not barely matters because the energy is real.

The track opens like a freight train with its brakes cut. Every riff swings like a haymaker. The breakdowns hit with the kind of force that turns a standing crowd into a horizontal one. Slaughter to Prevail have never been a subtle band and this is them leaning all the way into that reputation. The production is clean enough to hear every layer but raw enough to feel dangerous.

Lyrically, “How you wanna go, with God or without?” gets repeated until it stops being a question and starts being a threat. There’s a critique buried in there about hypocrisy and existential choices, wrapped in gang vocals and guttural screams. The chorus turns “Russian grizzly in America” into a chant. Say it enough times and you’ll catch yourself muttering it on the bus home from a gig.

The video pairs perfectly with the music. Shirtless aggression. Menacing street scenes. That bear again. It looks like someone gave a deathcore band a Mad Max budget and told them to go wild. They went wild.

This won’t replace your favourite technical death metal record. It’s not trying to. It’s built to hit hard, stick in your head, and make you want to break something. Mission accomplished.
