Formed in 2022 by Ava Schrobilgen, Chloe De St. Aubin, Ellie Livingston, and Kate Halter, Die Spitz is the sound of four lifelong friends turning their “sitcom life” into riotous, genre-bending punk, hardcore, metal, and alt rock.
These 22-year-olds are more than just bandmates—they’ve been friends since childhood, roommates, and now, co-conspirators making music that’s as fiercely political as it is deeply personal. Their debut album, Something to Consume (out September 12 via Third Man Records), is a no-holds-barred takedown of modern life’s obsessions—be it love, addiction, or the grind of late capitalism.
Die Spitz is a true collective: they swap instruments, songwriting, and vocal duties with wild abandon. Their live shows are legendary, packed with cartwheels, crowd-surfing bass solos, and enough energy to rival the likes of OFF!, Amyl and the Sniffers, and Sleater-Kinney.
Their name? Chosen over a “brown bag of Fireball” as a nod to both the feminine German article and a joke about the Grim Reaper spitting—yeah, their humor is as sharp as their riffs.
