Voorjaar 2005 startten de Leuvense jonge veulens Marlies (zang, gitaar), Stefanie (drums, net 17j geworden!!), Mattias (lead gitaar) en Stijn (bas) met het schrijven van prettig gestoorde punkrock songs.

Eén maand na de opstart wordt Starfucker al geselecteerd door de Jim TV jury en krijgt een plaats op de affiche van Suikerrock. Najaar 2005 halen ze de finale van het provinciale (Vlaams Brabant) concours Rockvonk en springen in het oog van verschillende programmatoren, optredens volgen in de Ancienne Belgique, Rock Herk, e.a.

In 2006 krijgen ze een unieke kans, samen met Ronald Prent (man achter de knoppen bij o.a. Rammstein en Guano Apes) en producer Huub Reijnders (Damian Marley, Keane, Greenday) werken ze aan demo materiaal in de wereldbefaamde Galaxy Studio’s in Mol. Ondertussen schuimt Starfucker de kleinere clubs en jeugdhuizen af en verteert zo een kleine 100 concerten.

De band komt op kruissnelheid en blikt begin 2007 samen met Prent en Reijnders in de Galaxy Studio’s de eerste single “Boys Will Be Boys” in.
Enkele maanden later lanceert Luc Janssen (Canvas, Stubru) de Labo de Lux wedstrijd en Starfucker ziet zijn kans schoon en stuurt “Boys Will Be Boys” in. Warempel, uit 3000 inzendingen selecteert Lux Janssen Starfucker en zo winnen ze de eerste prijs, de publieksprijs, playlist bij Studio Brussel en een podiumplaats op Pukkelpop 2007!

De Morgen, De Standaard en zelfs Joepie zijn er als de kippen bij en interviewen zangeres Marlies.

In de media vinden we vergelijkingen met The Sounds, Juliette & The Licks en zelfs Foo Fighters meets Joan Jett!

Florida metal titans Trivium, who have sold well over half a million records worldwide since 2005, are proud to announce the release of Shogun, their third album for Roadrunner Records. Shogun will be released on September 30.

Critics and metalheads worldwide took notice when Trivium crashed the metal world in 2005, with the release of the Ascendancy album, landing them multiple magazine covers across the globe in less than a year and picking up "Best New Band" accolades almost everywhere they played. Intent on not delivering a 'part two' with their follow-up record, 2006's The Crusade took a slightly different direction, with cleaner singing and more varied influences. It retained their stunning signature guitar work and led to some enviable touring opportunities with bands such as Metallica and Iron Maiden.

Trivium have changed it up yet again on Shogun, choosing not to record in the familiar environs of their home state of Florida. Instead the band headed to Nashville, Tennessee to work with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Rush, Foo Fighters, Stone Sour). The result is a monolithic album that crystallizes the band's sound and showcases Trivium's finest elements. Vocalist/guitarist Matt Heafy is thrilled with the album, saying, "We made a cohesive, epic metal album that combines all of the ingredients of everything we feel we have ever done 'right' musically, while adding a new direction that the music called for. We had so much fun creating this album and hope our fans feel that energy when they listen."

Even Slayer's Kerry King, an undisputed heavy metal god, expressed excitement about touring with the band this fall on the "Unholy Alliance: Chapter 3" European tour. He commented to the UK's Total Guitar magazine, "I'll be at the side of the stage watching them. Great players like that make us want to do better."

Looks like the metal community is waiting with baited breath for Shogun.
